Hi Chris,
As far as I know that is the Purple Beautyberry - Callicarpa dichotoma. I have never heard it called Japanese Mulberry.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Re: Wanted: Japanese Mulberry
If anyone does find or knows of a nursery that supplies these then I'll definitely be interested. So much character in the trunk and the berries just top it off. Amazing....

Re: Wanted: Japanese Mulberry
I have one and they are available. Scott was searching for one a while back an his thread had some good leads. I think a search of the Latin name should find the thread.

Re: Wanted: Japanese Mulberry
Callicarpa Japonica. Not an easy find in Canberra or Sydney. Ray had it a long time prior to me looking but no longer does. I have not had a great amount of luck propagating. I had a couple cuttings going but they died!
Mine came from a grower in Victoria...all the good species seem to...

Seller on eBay sells seeds. Not sure how reliable they are. Just type in the name and away you go?! $3.30 including postage from memory.
