Hi Andrew F , I think its time to put a bit of effort in and wire some of the shoots for the required movement , then consider making the slab for it to reside on .

You wire the fresh shoots? Ive been contemplating wiring some olives i have but i was under the impression to leave them for a full growing season. I knew they were hardy though lol

Hi Andrew f , mate in never under any impression , a 8-10mm branch can easily snap as olives are hard and don't bend like Beckem . The shoots are soft and flexable , sounds like the best time to set them I have broken a few branches on olives so now is the time to set the new shoots into future trunks .

This has powered on from under the ground to the top of the tuber . Time to get out there and do some wiring a least . Things get out of hand way to quick around here .Crikey i had a tough bloke here this morning , never thought to ask for a hand to lift it . This is definitely a 2 man mountain , now i need to make a tray for it and a trolley to haul it around .

Hi Dario , mate i need it up on a tray to see whats happening around the base . A tray is on the horizon ,but it must be able to withstand 50 kg +.I have looked at numerous mediums but haven't decided on one particular material as weight is an issue with plant and tray , definitely a 4 wheel trolley for this one .

Hi Andrew F , mate i might have to carve a few steps in this one in order to scale it , bit like the walkway at Mt Buffalo .A lake was planned on the top and a log cabin would also look the part .

Hi Jason , mate i'm still inspired by many and motivated by a few . Need some serious time spent on my plant collection , done enough transplanting of trainers lately to give me some food for thought . Better play with a few now while the little ones grow .

50kg +... I am sure with your building background and your knack for innovative problem solving, you will be able to come up with something
Still that is heavy mate.
Hopefully you can work something out before the end of spring so that you can repot it when it is warmer and get a look at that base. Sounds like you are going to need help lifting both of these olives (including Alpineart's at it again thread).
Let us know what you come up with for a sturdy tray and best of luck.

Sounds like you'll be needing a few round logs and an thousand or so slaves (like in Egypt in the old days) to move this.

Seriously, though, I look forward to seeing the plant when you wire it, when you repot it, the tray (and its construction) and the mobility device that you come up with.. outstanding!

Hi Jan , they would lock me up if i bought out the cat of nine tails and flogged a few humans into line . Prior to cutting the base off 3 men couldn't lift it and i cant lift this base or the trunk .I think a few mates and a slab might be in order , they can lift and move it and i can crack the cans and watch with all the enthusiasm .
