I actually love olives too. But shipping interstate is out of the questions for the big guys...Grainer wrote:Sooooo Jealous..been looking for a HUGE boug for quite a while.. it is on my bucket list! If you ever want to swap for HUGE olives let me know !
Thanks for the info. However, from my experience and others that I know, except for smarty pants, all other bougainvillea species do not do well with carving... Doesn't matter what you use to preserve the dead wood, rotting is unavoidable. It actually happens from the inside out!delisea wrote:Great tree. Thanks Ken. It still has a long way to go but I am happy that it survived.kcpoole wrote:congratulations, What a great result

I actually did a couple more big digs after this one. Not as big but due to the narrow space, I had to chop all the roots close to the stumps and they seem to survive too. It appears that bougainvilleas are quite tough in this regard. From the experience, I learned that as long as the timing is right and sufficient soil, water and fertilizer during nursery time, the survival rate is very high.Andrew Legg wrote:Looking REALY REALY REALY nice mate!
