Four years in now and it has been repotted and trimmed. I leaned it more forward and turned it slightly for a better front. A bit of yoghurt on the soil for some moss and wait for bud break.

Have you thought of cutting back the pruning scars and covering with cut paste? They should repair well.
I did this at the end of summer on mine and even in a couple of months I saw improvement.
Cheers,

Looking good Bodhi.
Following some advice here I've successfully tried multiple defoliations in a growing season.
This has been great for ramification.

There is a great thread somewhere which I'll try to find..

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Hi ya Symon, i am wanting to leave the proud ones on the trunk as holes. I saw one in a garden and the cambium had grown into the hole and it looked very cool. Somewhere for the birds to nest :tu:

Hey Bodhi, I totally understand that choice. Possum holes are cool.

Boics, That is my thread. I'm glad you gave it a go it works really well, would like to see what result you got. I will do an update soon.

Cheers,
Symon
