Latest on this one. As the tree was too heavy heavy to lift the tree suffered against a wall. The back of the tree got no sun and suffered as a result.

I have now repotted it into a pot that i can just lift. Now i will be able to rotate it for even growth.

Also gave the tree a bit of a 1st style.

I know massive issues. Reverse taper and no root base.

Its not the best tree and probably never will be. But hope in the future it may at least looks ok with full leaf and apples on the tree.
Winter dormancy will 99 percent never look good.

Funnily enough watched your YouTube vid for this tree this arvo... loved the way you went about it and thought you definitely improved your tree without doubt - I liked your tip when it comes to styling deciduous stock. Not a vast amount of apple trees out there, I've got my fingers crossed you can turn this into something special. Good luck with it, I'll be watching.

Starting to shoot. Also has some flowers fingers crossed for some apples.

Are you intending on carving out and tapering the hard cut ends?
I think this procedure (carving) will really assist and considering you are in a growing stage for your tree the wounds may heal a little quicker.
Hope you get an apple or two as well!

Thanks muddy and DocPep. Yes my plan will be to carve out and remove the dead stumps. One to get rid of the ugly stubs which will improve branch structure and taper. And 2 is to create some hollows in the thick branches (2nd and 3rd trunks) to add interest. The carving will not be done for the dead wood as this will all be removed. Apple tree wood is soft and will rot easy, so will be removed creating hollows and taper. Probably wont look that good until the callaced edges roll around the holes and hollows making it look more natural. Keep yas posted

Gave the apple tree a trim after some good growth. No Apples though. Maybe too early after trunk chop.

Looks good Sammy already a pyramid shape.
