Re: Cascade Juniper
Yep agree with Sean looks more proportioned and the Jin will set it off nicely. A nice pot is all you need. Well done

Re: Cascade Juniper
Thanks for the feedback Sean and RodM.
Will certainly be rearranging the branches a little, but overall vigour is my aim for the rest of this season. I think I've hassled it enough over the last month.

Re: It Once was a Cascade Juniper
A much better tree coming through now and i also agree to wire the apex down a little more.

Re: It Once was a Cascade Juniper
Thanks for the feedback everyone. The apex will definitely get wired into a better position.
I will wait for the tree to regain some vigour after the initial restyling last month and the removal of the cascade section will hopefully redirect some energy into the bit of the tree that is left.
A fair way to go with this one but it is a much better tree as an informal upright

I don't trust Bonsai, they are a little shady.

She looks a bit like this.
I took all the fine wiring off as it was starting to bite and haven't got around to rewiring it.
Has put on a bit of growth but have also pinched it a fair bit to thicken up some pads.
A few years of refining to do yet!

Re: It Once was a Cascade Juniper
Lookin good Theo! I like how it looks so gnarly. I think that first left branch needs some bends in it to suit the rest of the tree.
Will you be adding some texture to the jin by carving or pliers?

The first branch will certainly get some bends in it.
The wife has been sent a photo detailing the Dremel that will do the job and with my birthday in June, I'm hoping she delivers
I'm thinking the Jin will turn into a shari over time.
Thanks for the kind words and encouragement.
