Hello Symon, Anthony,

Maybe
Monopotassium Phosphate? KH2 PO4, N:0 P:52 K:34.

Never used it on Bonsai / Moss, but it definitely works with Annuals / Perennials / Actually all Flowering and Fruiting generally.

The tree is progressing very well. Not sure about the new pot though?

Nice!

That blue pot might look good against the yellowing leaves as they drop.

Interesting your comments regarding the pads Mike, I often wonder as I train some trees if I prefer the pad look or the overall canopy from multiple branches while the inner structure is still visible.

Care to elaborate?

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Thanks for the comments! I'm not swayed by you blue pot haters :tounge:. Admittedly it would look better if the trunk was whitened and this tree may not have the strength of character to take the pot. It is a cheapish late 20th century Tokoname BTW.

Treeman's comment about not having pads is interesting. Is it a balance between having structure but not making it cartoonish? What do people think?

I'm trying to style it like an old camphour laurel. They have structure but no pads. There is symmetry in shaping an invasive weed like and invasive weed.

I like the back of your tree...why are you hiding the craving...plus the roots look more even, the fronts nebari to me doesn't suit the lean of the tree, but I'm jealous :palm:

cheers

My guess is the trunk lean and the direction of the main branching?

Any current photos of the back?
