All good! I'ts quite a straight trunk with a second trunk from down low on it, then fairly formal flat branches up to a more natural sytle apex. I dont think i'll cut it back to alter the main trunk but i'm deciding if i remove and regrow branches to change the style

I thought the stump looked a bit familiar but there have been quite a few so it is always a bit hard to be sure. Today Loyskirineba has sent a PM to alert me that this is one I grew :D

You have done a really great job of developing something quite good from not much :tu:

Great effort, well done!

I have to say, I've gotten some stumps from shibui over the past two years, and they're all coming along fairly well... (Only 3 more years to go, by the looks....lol)

You're correct about the shimpaku :lost: I do grow and sell lots of trees but I still can't recall that shimpaku being here. I can often recognise some signs of how I grow maple and to a less extent Chinese elm but junipers grow differently so I don't have quite the same control over them so I guess junipers grown by others probably look similar to mine.
Still taking nothing away from the development you have managed in both this Chinese elm and the shimpaku juniper. The latter is very penjing in appearance :imo: so don't worry if bonsai aficionados start knocking the styling.
