I started this from tubestock a couple of years ago. It's been great so far responding to bonsai work well with no real problems yet. It also flowers consistently too, and they give it a very unique appearance. The flowers grow straight off the side of branches.
There's never been a real plan for where this is headed, I've just been wiring movement into the trunk and branches when they are young as I go. I've decided that I'm going to make it a sideways growing semi-cascade type design now.
There's two viewing sides that both have merit at this stage. I'm thinking maybe a crescent bonsai pot maybe in the future. I've shrunk it down into a shallower pot for now to get the roots reigned back in. I might then pot it back up to a wide shallow pot as I want to keep thickening the trunk at a decent rate.
