Unpaid Root Trimmer

I was going to do some wiring on a Taxus cutting to give it some initial shape, took it out of the pot and found this little helper.
Needless to say no wiring done on this, just slipped it back in the pot and return the pot to where it was.

How cool is that! Would it be hibernating from the cold I wonder? Great shot Watto, thanks

Great pic mate, very cute little guy
I get a few around the water tank, in the pipes, under pots etc but never seen one in soil
Always good to get a little helper/ side kick that don't cost much
cheers

I don't even have to feed him/her.
Looks like there has been a bit of root trimming done though!!!

Looks like Litoria perroni - Perrons tree frog. Seems appropriate that a tree frog is in a tree, even if it is a bonsai. I often have them hiding under the pots but it is a bit unusual for them to be in the soil. Probably hiding from those cold nights you've been having :o . Litoria don't dig so there must have been a space in the pot for it to get in there.
We often have them climbing up the windows of the house hunting moths and insects in warmer months.
