hey,
This is a tree on mt wellington, it has some awesome roots and is called the octopus tree becasue of them.
Does any1 have any idea what the tree is?

It appears to be a rather old Angophora costata. I have an image of the roots on one too, but the shot is not as impressive as this. Cheers!

Nice shots mate. That first shot is amazing. It looks like the hand of an alien!! It reminds me a bit of those tree people in Lord of the Rings!! If you DO decide to chop it down I think I have a nice shohin pot that you could put it into!!!!
