[360°] ULMUS Parvifolia
Hello to you all here is another of my exotics.
It is commonly called a Corky Bark Elm.
This particular one was given to me as stock plant from Ray Nesci by a guy who's tree's I was minding while he was on a trip around Australia.
None of his tree's died. I have been training it now for approx 12 years from as I say stock. I have a few Shohin from branches and root cuttings.
The moss on the trunk is easy to treat with Vinegar. Here is the link.

I would like to get my hands on the software to make these 360degree views. It makes constructive suggestions so much easier for the viewer.
My name is Don. I'm a UK nutter and bonsaiholic but I'm on medication (when I can find the tablets)

a very powerful tree pup
there is something about the foliage starting half way up though, have you thought about bringing a couple of pads south

I think stunned is the term Pup. Not only by this great tree but by the technology that allows us to see all round it. Great to see that 2D viewing is (almost ) a thing of the past. 360 aside this is a marvelous specimen and thanks for sharing with us here.

Nice one Pup!
Is there a single tree in your collection that isn't beautifully ramified and refined? It's almost enough to make me take up Ulmus species again...
Thanks for sharing!
Fly.
PS: This is a great use of the 360° feature. I can't wait to get snapping...

Problems again. Internet explorer has encountered a problem and has to close. Sorry, Pup, still problems. I get a quick glimpse before it shuts down though. Great tree.

Re: [360°] ULMUS Parvifolia
Hey! Pup,
I was about to comment on the suggestions to lowering the bottom branch when I noticed the Ausbonsai logo at the top of this page.
The lower branches are too far up the trunk and have yet to flesh out horizontally (The logo that is! We'll have to talk with Steven?)
A nice tree, Pup, I hope you don't do anything drastic, because allowing another 3 inches in height over the next three years (1inch per year....I wish?) will overcome any criticism, in relation to one third, two thirds.
Please note there are still some things that retain relativity when spoken about in inches.
Seriously, can you please put up a "Roughie" every now and then, so we can have a really good critique, where we can really let go with the emotion?
Excellent tree, Pup.
Gary

Yamadori is purely Bonsai in spades
My Avatar is a female Apis Mellifera (honey bee) from before 2600BC
Up until now she has been responsible for pollinating 80% of mankind's fruit and vegetables
as well as 90% of mother earth's flowers. What if...............?
