[360°] Ulmus Procera Raft (English Elm Raft) at the NBPCA

Post by NBPCA »

After a defoliation and clean out of dead twigs and stubs, here is a 360 of a fine English Elm raft here at the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection.

Absolutely beautiful a true world class Bonsai, and from an Australian artist, in Australia.

Again Wonderful, and well done to all involved in bringing this to the Australian and World of Bonsai.

Cheers :D Pup

I'd pay $1000 for that, incredible.

I'd be to scared I'd kill it.

Very beautiful tree. Something really special. Are there any pictures of it in full bloom?

Cheers

Leigh, you guys have done an awesome job in this tree - it really looks magnificent. The 360 gives it a whole new perspective.

Anyone noticed the face and the gargoyle in the tree? Yes, I know - I'm 'strange'

Tman, you must look at that tree really closely, because i can't even see a face etc. I'll have to have another look.

Any picture of the tree from when it was collected 20 years ago? I would love to see the progression of it.

Ben

Yes you do have to study the tree to see what is there. As with all Bonsai, when you have you will see something new each time you look.

A friend has made the comment he likes, the back as the front. I would like a turn to the left of about 10 degrees.

This is what Bonsai is about the study of good trees.

Cheers :) Pup

After looking at this tree carefully myself I am now much more keen on the English elm as well. The ramification is amazing and natural lookong.

I will certainly apply what I learn from this tree to my elms at home and any future trees loaned or donated to the collection.
