Pyracantha Virt or direction

I have this nice twin pyracantha I collected, at this moment I just intend on doing the norm, large pads moving up to an apex.
Do you see something different in there? If so what?

I think make it a single trunk and get rid of the straight trunk. Just keep the one with movement.

Hi Mick, any chance of some different angles, it's too hard to see with the 2 you've posted,

You're Pyracantha should surely flower by now eh, much the same as cottoneaster , you need to allow the new shoots to get thorns, thats where the flowers will come from next season

Shame that main trunk is so straight. Anywhere you can cut both of them back and grow some movement in that main one? Be good to keep them together if you could.

Thats a Tricky one Mick. I think you need to ask yourself a few questions.
Like what do you want/see in this tree as is, and do you want to cut it down to start gaining trunk taper, use 2 trunks or 1, things like that.
Whats the Nerabi like, is there a possible front from that alone? Where to start,,,,,Regards Craig

A couple of thoughts,

With this option I have concerns that the second trunk is a bit too heavy, you could remove the top section of this trunk and keep the cascading branch. This central pad could be rebuilt from a finer branch in the future or omitted.
The other option I like is to remove the vertical trunk completely.

Hi Mick,
The straight trunk appears to be a reasonable thickness. This being the case, it would be sad to get rid of it. You could do a couple of Air Layers on it and get a couple of good trees. If you choose areas on the trunk that have good branches coming off, you should end up with good size trunks and new leaders to train in the direction you want. After removing the new trees you could get rid of what is left and work on the trunk that already has good movement.

i got the right post now this is a vert a freind did for me a while ago it is for a chinese elm but you tree has simlar trunk
line so it might work for you aswell
