I got it by pure chance. I knew a bloke who wanted to dump 10 meters of soil and I told him I'd take it.
You won't find it at the local garden supply joint. Better off checking out the local council earth works, road works, new estates, that sort of thing. You can also often find it about one meter down in your back yard, but who's going to dig up their yards? If you live in hilly districts it's probably every where around you. Usually red or red-brown sub soil from volcanic origins.
When I was in the western districts we had a very similar thing but it was black. From basalt bed rock. Alluvial soil is no good and most top soil is no good either.
