Hey all. I have another juni that isn't sprouting new needles. For some 3 months now it has been the same size with needles that are rough to the touch. I fertilize every week. The styling is not traditional I am aware of that eventually I'll restyle it. Any ideas....

Here is another pic showing the foliage as you see only one new sprout in 4 months

Compare that to another juni that is beautifully soft to the touch and has heaps and heaps of new foliage

If anyone has any tricks please let me know. I love this tree but it's looks aren't quite there

Not sure where you're looking mate but to me all those light green needles are new...

Cute little tree though, needs a smaller pot if the roots can handle it haha.

Also, I've known junipers with needle foliage to be firm and prickly, only Pingii seems to have any softness. I think the first one you posted is maybe a squamata rather than a Pingii and the second is a Pingii.

The second pic only has 2 or 3 new shoots. The last one is the one that is beautifully soft to the touch.

As you see in this pic the foliage is short and only a few new shoots have emerged.

I have heaps of smaller pots. Can I repot now.

I have a squamata and it's spiky as anything, wiring is a painful experience. New shoots start off soft for me but harden off within weeks.

How much sun does it get and how often do you fertilise?

Heaps of sun. Full afternoon sun. I fertilize every week.

Finally repotted the juni in a smaller pot.
