celtis

Post by squizzy »

Hi All.

Just thought I should post this pick of a stump I pulled from the ground on one of my recent jobs of this Celtis. I am unsure of the difference between C. australis and C. sinensis so I cant confirm the species.

Anyhow there was no special treatment here as I am always very time poor and I figured these things grow like weeds so at worst it could be classed as a rather large cutting. I am not to bothered if it fails however, if it suceeds then maybe I will have the start of a half decent tree. Its probably about 250mm across at the base.

Fingers crossed.

Thats the plan Ken thats why I took the existing leader off. It just had no character. You know what I mean! It just looked like a boring old full size tree.

I've got this big elephant foot in a pot. I will be working on some styling in the coming months so thought I should get a photo up of where it's at now. Note the wire cutters for size reference ;)
