Thanks zimzallabim, MOGGINATOR and Ken! It's a hard tree to keep under control, since that recent shot it's sprouted like crazy and is a bush again...

Beautiful work. The swing at the top of the trunk, and the sweep at the bottom harmonise really well, for me.

If you have another fit of madness (you do them well!) would you consider narrowing the tree down, so the upward sweep of the trunk becomes more of a feature? Just a refinement.

Spring 2018 update. This was the first Winter that Elmo fully defoliated, so it's got a new fresh set of leaves on it. I did a fair bit of branch clean up and wiring during the Winter, and still will reduce the outer side canopy a bit, just trying to thicken a couple of branches first. Getting a little tired of this pot so will keep a look out for something new.
