These had a bit of a trim before all this rain came along
Cheers . Alpineart
These pussies certainly don't like the extreme heat up here . Several other configuration were burnt to a crisp at 35 degree's so they will now be grown in a well sheltered area out of the direct sunlight .American Hornbeam-Carpinus Caroliniana

Love the leaf shape/detail on hornbeams ... it's a nice group you've got going there Alpine.
How'd the Sumo shohin (in the blue pot, on the first page of this thread) come out of that trunk chop - I liked the look of that!

Yes, I like that grouping of hornbeams. Good to see the progress - it has given me some ideas about reducing the height of a group of zelkova serrratas. I'll keep thinking and make a decision in the coming winter. Thanks for updating this thread.

Hi Ryceman3 its coming along nicely considering the neglect it gets . The shohin was sold about this time last year unfortunately the chap that bought it hasn't kept in contact .All I know is he came from Central NSW to buy stock and left with a car load . He was going to Join our Bonsai Club but as yet hasn't shown up .
Hi MJL , this will be grown this season in this pot then reduced or potted down into a smaller pot . It need a bit more of the care factor but I'm not in a position to do too much with Bonsai .
Cheers . Alpine

This never got the re-pot it needed but it has been maintained and is still green .

It would look good on a large slab or tray . Cheers . Alpine

Hi MJL , mate its been a busy month with close to 200 trees going to ACT , NSW and VIc which eases the burden of looking after them .
Covid 19 has put a spanner in the works for travellers but its only a minor setback .
Cheers . Ian
