Re: Elm Projects.
Good to see some new entries into your Elm projects John! They're all impressive and inspiring. After seeing these last year I decided to get some going too, maybe in ten years time I'll have something worthy. Thanks again for sharing.

Re: Elm Projects.
Hi John,
I've just come across this thread too. Well done on your trees, each one is unique and full of character. I admit I've never been a huge fan of the exposed root style but these are fantastic, really evocative.
Matt.

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Re: Elm Projects.
Time for a update .Only two new ones this year. As have been focusing on a backyard full of natives. Ever since Rory and the native comp things have gone crazy. The first has been influenced by Zhao Qingquan and his Literati trees. The second an attempt of a tree with washed away roots at a riverbank. Funny tree as it never dropped its leaves ,as opposed to all others that did. Working on a Native with exposed roots, very happy with this one. Will post after repotting. Cheers John.

The first one is “out there where the buses don’t run”... not your average bonsai no doubt, but nobody really should strive for average so I completely appreciate the effort and endeavour. Love your posts boom, never boring!

Re: Elm Projects.
The Zhao literati influence is evident for sure but your skills and vision shine through. Again. When I see some of your posts whether native or others like these Chinese elms I feel both inspired and a tad disheartened that don’t I have such vision. Top stuff John.
