Trident progress...
Hi all,
first pic is from when I picked it up from Ray's at one of his bonsai weekends (2011 or 2012 I think). I watched a carving demonstration and thought this little one might be a good one for some carving.
And this is it now:

Thanks Lenlen and Akhi! Akhi, just trim and wire and trim and wire I guess. Here's a pic from 2014 in winter:

Re: Trident progress...
An elegant tree. Would you consider a shallower and slightly wider pot when you root-prune it next? I think it deserves new boots.
Thanks for posting.

Re: Trident progress...
Hi Gavin!
Great minds! Yes I have a new pot for it. It's become really hard to get out of that pot, and back in, so it'll go in a slightly wider and shallower pot as you suggest. Will update in a month or so.

So, the new pot! And a slightly new angle for the front.
I'm kinda into wide and long shallow pots at the moment.

Re: Trident progress...
Progressing very nicely. I think this tree could manage a pot that is even shallower?

Re: Trident progress...
Thanks Watto. Yes I see what you mean. And after reading some recent posts, it seems that I can be a bit rougher on the root pruning which would get it into a shallower container.
