My crepe myrtle

Post by bonborn »

Can anyone advise me where to take this little one design wise. I'd like it tall and slender with a wide sparse canopy.

Windswept could look cool with that bend in the trunk
Slow and steady wins the race

New growth just heads vertically so Wire the branches early as they get really brittle and shape them to suit.
Trim them back in late winter to generate backbudding and then rewire the new shoots loosely before set too hard.

Informal upright styles work well
