One fine day in early Sept 17, I packed up my gear heading to an old wrecking house in a near neighbourhood in Melbourne. There were a few trees that were destined to the tip in a week to make way for a site development. After making a deal with the owner to collect a couple of large JM's and a few azalea's I was ready for hard labour for the day...
Here are the 2 JM's. Both are likely to be around 70-80yo according to the owner.
Now the Azelea's...
Quick trip back home...

Great work Hal,
They really are excellent material, would be a shame to lose them to the tip.
Good on you for saving & giving them a fresh start.
Investing the time, sweat, & effort to dig is really paying off, just on that big JM alone.
The scar in the trunk adds real interest - yes sir I like .
