Sunburnt oak

Post by Beano »

I bought an English oak this week which was sunburnt. It has pushed some new growth. Can I safely prune it back a little now? The intent would be getting the burnt leaves off but also shortening some branches which I think are too long.

Hi Beano
I would be inclined to wait awhile for two reasons
#1 autumn is coming soon
#2 while the burnt leaves are still on they will protect the new growth for more sunburn on them
