Why the concern? It has been ok in previous years, has something changed over recent times to give you reason to think it may not?

I worry every year after repotting it. I guess I'm just one of those people who doesn't trust themselves yet.

That's ok then, I decided to try Crepe Myrtle after seeing yours a couple of years ago and recently root pruned mine. So you put a scare in me, I did the same last year and it survived :fc: it does again this year.

It's one of the last of my deciduous to bud, so it keeps me on my toes. :)

Good luck with yours. The other CM I posted tonight has had a "shibui-style" root pruning, so that one is the one I really should be worried about!

Great progression . That new trunk line is developing really well . Once it matches that great base :o . And going on how quick it’s developing that won’t be long .
