Large Crepe Myrtle
I had some help to repot it last year, because it's way too big for me to handle on my own. The red pot is half a metre across, and very heavy. Also not an ideal bonsai pot because it only has one tiny drainage hole...
This coming winter I want to slow it down and put it into a smaller pot...I've added some virtuals...
thoughts please?

Re: Large Crepe Myrtle
I think the last pot suits it well and gives the tree a more powerful feel.

Cheers bodhi, the blue should also contrast nicely with the Autumn foliage. Appreciate your input.

I think Bodhi is right on the money.

Thanks Watto, another huge learning curve for me, finding ways to turn a fan shaped stick into a sort of a tree.
Still have much to learn, but enjoying the process.

Re: Large Crepe Myrtle
I can't remember if it was a bidding war or buy it now... first time I'd bought a bare root tree on ebay.. I'm just happy that I didn't get a dud.I think I nearly bid on that! Looking good!

Large Crepe Myrtle
It would have been auction style if it was that usual guy that sells in winter with pictures of the tree bare rooted with a pair of secateurs.

Re: Large Crepe Myrtle
I think I got one plant from him last year? Vaguely recall he wasn't selling as much, either that or he wasn't selling plants I could easily grow....
Mostly happy with what I got from him though, despite the two crepe myrtles not being the colour stated...

Re: Large Crepe Myrtle
Ooo, I've been checking his sales every couple of weeks, and haven't looked for a bit....well done!
This one will be repotted in a couple of weeks, I'm guessing. (If I can lift it!)
