Quercus Robur help with styling

Hi,
My sunburnt oak has recovered nicely and I am posting today to ask for help with future styling.
At the time of buying I was very drawn to it but now I look at it and see I’ll need help with turning it into a great tree as I’ve not had an oak before! I bought it in this pot (too small?) and I believe it is an air layered branch based on the appearance of the roots that are above the dirt level.
I like it but I feel the branching is out of proportion for the trunk size, and am aware this will be made worse by the leaf size and difficulty in reducing leaf size.
Should I continue to train new branching as it appears, or chop it and start the tapering process again? Option 2 would remove the carved fork which I am not a fan of.
