Hey there Bonsai Brainstrust! Loving learning from this forum and thought it was time to jump in...
For those that didn't see my Cedrus post
Little intro~
I'm Mitch from Wollongong, had a couple of bonsai years ago but they died while on holidays under the care of someone else... So I've picked it back up again and was given this maple for my birthday recently off my kids. About 6yrs old I think, if the label is correct.
I'm thinking maybe a good prune, plant in training pot or ground to fatten up, and possibly defoliate the next flush of growth in spring.
Anyone got some tips or ideas they care to share?
Hit me with it! TIA
Mitch

Hi Mitch
I found Treemans talk an excellent explanation of what you need to do to grow good maples
Loads of other good posts here in "deciduous" section too.
