Elm Ramification
I have had this small English Elm for quite a few years. It was dug during a dig that was organised by the Goulburn Bonsai Society in an old cow paddock and there were a large number of trees with cow hoof damage which was great.
Anyway, the reason for the post is to show the ramification that has been achieved over the years and the resulting small leaf size. I like this tree, it is in a Pat Kennedy pot and will get a re-pot this year.
In the next few weeks it will be trimmed and wired if necessary and hopefully will be in full "bloom" in late September.

Re: Elm Ramification
Really nice looking tree mate .
A stick in a pot is better than no stick at all. Remember even the best bonsai started as a stick.

Re: Elm Ramification
Agreed, wonderful ramification and nice tree but my biggest question is :
Why are your stainless cutters rusting!??!?
Seriously nice tree though.

Re: Elm Ramification
Good stuff. An English Elm in an Australian setting. ...the interesting trunk - the red dirt, sparse moss in a lovely pot ... and what an excellent silhouette. Cheers, for posting the picture.
As I say - it reminded me of this type of picture...clearly a very different tree but as I say, the setting reminded me of an Australian scene.

Re: Elm Ramification
That really is a good example of ramification, Watto. Can you tell us how many years it's taken to get to there? I need something to give me hope...

Re: Elm Ramification
Thanks for your kind words.
Probably the cutters are rusty due to lack of care!
Serious ramification started in 2013, but it had the bones before that. I have attached a photo to show the difference.
When I took the "moon light" photo I wanted the moon to move around a bit to give a better angle, but it was unresponsive ha ha ha.
