Chinese Elm - twist & turn
I have had this Chinese Elm for quite some time and am now into the refinement stage.
This week it was time for a re-pot as the bonsai was starting to "walk" out of the pot. At the same time I took the opportunity to alter the planting angle and to turn it about 15 degrees to the left.
I think it is an improvement from a small change. It is in an old Pat Kennedy pot that I think still suits the arrangement because of the colour and texture.

Watto,
Your Elm is displaying some great age, especially nice is the flaky bark on the branches & trunk. Only time can achieve this texture.
I agree, Pot colour & tree textures = good match.

Excellent stuff. I like this because as old as it is ... it seems achievable to use new('ish) folk.
Top shelf Watto - inspiring and thanks for posting.

Re: Chinese Elm - twist & turn
I'm wondering if it's pk that's old or the pot that's old and then I realized that that if one is old so is the other.....oh sh#t!
Actually, I'm not that old and I do like the NEW match....thanks, Watto

How do you make the conclusion that if one is old so is the other?Pat K wrote:I'm wondering if it's pk that's old or the pot that's old and then I realized that that if one is old so is the other.....oh sh#t!

You're right Herbert, the logic is flawed....but in Oz, it's considered bad form to explain jokes
