Chinese Elm - twist & turn

Post by Watto »

I have had this Chinese Elm for quite some time and am now into the refinement stage.
This week it was time for a re-pot as the bonsai was starting to "walk" out of the pot. At the same time I took the opportunity to alter the planting angle and to turn it about 15 degrees to the left.
I think it is an improvement from a small change. It is in an old Pat Kennedy pot that I think still suits the arrangement because of the colour and texture.

 Watto,
Your Elm is displaying some great age, especially nice is the flaky bark on the branches & trunk. Only time can achieve this texture.
I agree, Pot colour & tree textures = good match.

Excellent stuff. I like this because as old as it is ... it seems achievable to use new('ish) folk.

Top shelf Watto - inspiring and thanks for posting.

I'm wondering if it's pk that's old or the pot that's old and then I realized that that if one is old so is the other.....oh sh#t!

Actually, I'm not that old and I do like the NEW match....thanks, Watto 8-)

How do you make the conclusion that if one is old so is the other?

You're right Herbert, the logic is flawed....but in Oz, it's considered bad form to explain jokes :shake:

Cheers, Pat
