Shohin Yamadori English Elms

Post by Watto »

Over a couple of years I have dug a few small English elms and recently some of these were potted up. The real work now starts in trying to determine direction and then some refinement, but its all fun.
Hope you enjoy.

Yamadori = collected from the “wild”, so Watto hasn’t grown them from scratch per se, but he has done a great job of collecting and transferring them to pot culture. Very nice Watto, as per usual.
The last is probably my favourite, still enjoy checking in on your blog BTW! That big Hawthorn is pretty sweet.

Thanks Ryceman, that hawthorn is big and I was moving toward smaller trees, but I'm weak and can't resist.
Digging wild trees from the scrub is great fun, and if you get a good result, even better.
Matt, I'm think of keeping that last one, just trying to decide on the preferred front.

Those in-charge are cleaning up the creek behind my place and dozing english elms, big and small. Since we've had regular light rain for the last month it seems to me that it might be a good time to go rummaging around the mullock heaps.
So thanks Watto, for the nudge. I can also give my new 2-weight rod an airing :)
