Re: Autumn 2019
A few of my JM are starting to pull their weight. I also received some trident seeds from our group meeting which are showing some nice colour in their first Autumn. And lastly a JM pre bonsai I'm trying to thicken up a bit for a few years - I've posted this one a few weeks ago, bragging about how my moss is better than my trees.

Re: Autumn 2019
My fantastic new Crepe Myrtle from PeterB’s collection has started to turn on the colour.
Last week Yesterday Today, other side of tree: My other crepe is still quite dark green but the edges are starting to turn red.

Beautiful colours Gavin, but in particular, your display stands are outstanding.

Here’s my young Japanese Maple forest; muted colours only. These photos are a couple of days apart and it’s slowly changing. That’s said, hardly spectacular and the colours are ‘muddied’ by leaf mould but hey, I’m posting the pics anyway.

Re: Autumn 2019
Slowly slowly my trees are getting better colour. Wisterias are all yellow, as are my prunus. My tridents have held on the longest and are just starting properly now, with my shishigashira JM motherstock plant not far behind it now either.
One of root over rock tridents is finally getting some colour. A mix of some bright reds, blood reds and strong yellows
Also this ginkgo seedling i grew last year has gone such a pale yellow it is almost white. Very pretty colour indeed

A stick in a pot is better than no stick at all. Remember even the best bonsai started as a stick.

Howdy, Just following up this post - some nice colours, eventually. Now to the hard work of making a proper, ramified bonsai forest ....

Re: Autumn 2019
I'm in Brisbane, so rarely see a lot of colour, but for some reason this year there's been quite a bit. I can only surmise that these have coloured up because we had one week of sub 5° nights....and all of these trees are in unprotected areas where they get full sun, and full cold.

Re: Autumn 2019
Couple of the last plants of mine that still have autumn colour
Arakawa Japanese maple giving me a really nice mix of yellow/orange and red
My Gingo stump finally has decided it is time to commit to the autumn colours, and is golden now. You can just make out the cork bark elm in the background also going yellow
