Jacarandah progression

It's warm enough this morning, that that cold Coopers looks good even at 7.34am!

That is looking very impressive K.C. A shame we gotta prune the hell out of them and they dont get the chance to flower. The bottom branch needs a little more meat to it in my eye's

Yeah Bodhi I agree there.
I was looking at it yesterday and came to the same conclusion.
The one above it, I let go to try and Graft it into the trunk where there was a large scar. ( that one was shoot up higher that I pulled down).
As a result it is much thicker than the bottom one.

I will let the bottom branch grow untouched for a full year to get some growth onto it so it overtakes the one above

I love Jacarandah this time of year in Sydney. They have a lovely golden colour to th efoliage before they drop their leaves.

They may not have the brilliant colours of maple etc but I think they are even more spectacular. My small one gets a red tinge to the leaf stems that yours doesnt seem to have, maybe our differing climate.. or....

Never seen any Red on mine, nor noticed on any of the big ones round here. can you take a pic of yours to show?

Love the bark on the bottom of the trunk there Ken! Great job! I have two and I'll keep watching this one for ideas and inspiration

After taking the pic I thought I would go & check the 2 other jac's I have, one has no red the other has a little but nothing like the above. Both are in the ground, one as a garden subject, the other being grown on... The only thing I can think of that might be a contributing factor is the above tree dries out regularly & was also defoliated & pruned twice this season..

took another photo today as it slows down for winter
It will get a good wire this year to bring the branch tips down and might shorten the left top on too
