Thinking of Coprosma

Hi everyone.
We have a few variegated Coprosma that have a prostrate habit at work.
If I can get my hands on one I’m thinking of training an informal cascade, but now that I’ve checked out Bodhidharma’s Coprosma progression thread (looks awesome). I’m thinking maybe I can graft on some of the variegated stock onto one of the many repens Mirror bush/trees weeds growing in the back yard and do something similar.
Anyone have any experience with coprosma?

Not in grafting simon but coprosma grow so easy it is scary. I am growing one on in the front yard for fun, it grew there from seed, I don't even need to water it, just cut it back to train it to shape. They do callous over fairly easily so I would say that you might have a good shot at a graft. Good luck.

Coprosma can make wonderful bonsai an they are very much underrated.

Thanks Gerard. That one looks great.

I'm starting to swing towards having a go at grafting onto the Coprosma repens rootstock with the C. kirkii.
Just another project that will be waiting in the wings.
