I would cut off the fatter of the 2 branches - it will only thicken the trunk at that point. The sacrifice branch needs to be as close to the bottom as possible - it will fatten up everything under it. You can also use several sacrifice branches - use one for a while then cut it off and allow the scar to heal while growing another in a different position. These will shoot everywhere from the trunk and are real fast growers

Looks like you have lifted it a long way up. Roots out of the mix won't thicken as quickly as in the mix. There will be a hollow beneath the trunk and your mix for many years if you leave it this way. I would have potted it deeper so there was a good flare at your mix level with no air between the trunk and mix.

Yes I noticed that too. It wasn't my plan so in the watering I must have washed down the soil! Should be easy to fix, just too it up...

Job #2 for the weekend!

Thanks for noticing - as you get too close (well at my level anyway) you don't see all the imperfections and I was rather 'chuffed' with my effort. Lol.
