Golden Privet

Post by Watto »

About 9 or 10 years ago I dug a few golden privet from a local garden. I gave one away, sold a couple and kept a couple. This one has been a bit neglected over the years but last year I got some inspiration to finally develop it. I bought a pot from Graham (a good contributor here) and set about to bring the idea to reality.
This variety doesn't like the really cold weather and the yellow leaves suffer but it does come back each year and will have better foliage later in the season. The following photos show it progress over the last year and in another year or two I hope to have it at display quality.

Mine do it too, but it wasnt golden more like anemic yellow when I got it. Ever since I put into a pot with a decent mix the leaves are radioactive green and healthy. :palm: :palm: :palm:

Mine has a green undertone, but plenty of sun appears to help keep it yellow. Last year mine was a golden color all year. In the photo below you can see the green leaves on the parts that do not get sun.
