A mind reader you are.
Removal I'd agree with.
Thinking of cutting it and pealing the bark about an inch from trunk them removing the knob and pinning the bark back over the wound.
Plenty of time with this one, so a slow pull down through the pot will be attempted first.
Might even get away weighting the root so it bends slowly.
Brittleness and thin bark with these trees make any wiring a very tediously slow process.
