Buxus transplanting advice

Hi all,
We have about 10 buxus in our rental property's yard that I've been given the OK to move.
They were forming a waist high hedge but my house mates gave them all a chop at trunk height about 8 weeks ago.
They've bounced back well with lots of growth and I've just given them the odd prune.
What should I do from here?
Will I need to slowly reduce the rootball and transfer them to large poly pots before trying to place them in bonsai pots?
With the reduced foliage they're now supporting will they handle transplanting well or should they be left to recover?
Is it too late in the season to move them at all?
Any advice appreciated.
