Little rosemary bush(rescued from death)
Salavage this rosemary from a house doing a revamp.
I've given a bit of a hair cut and wired some of the branches, hopefully I've done it justice.....
Needs some TLC as was out of the ground for almost 10 hours..
I'll tidy it up once it perks up a little...

Re: Little rosemary bush(rescued from death)
I wish you luck - I have lost count of how many I have tried to move without success. They came from the house in front of us which was being demolished. Straight into a bucket of seasol but it made no difference. Hope you have more success
Regards Tony

Might just chuck him into the green house then.
I always thought they were very hardy....

Re: Little rosemary bush(rescued from death)
I tried to collect an old one a few years ago with no success.
Still have a small one that has been around for ages and struggled after repotting
It has been growing g well lately so we shall see how it goes in the next few years

Re: Little rosemary bush(rescued from death)
Sounds like a battle, this one was out of the ground for many hours before I got hold of it, had it's root ball intact.
Hopefully a humid green house with daily watering of seasol might pull it through.....

Re: Little rosemary bush(rescued from death)
One week and it's looking good, in fact better than when I first got it.
Lush green with no leaf loss, I've been watering it daily and every second day with season
So fingers are still very much crossed........

Re: Little rosemary bush(rescued from death)
Almost a month later and still no signs of death approaching. In fact its looking good with what looks like new growth.
Maybe placing it in the green house is the key to transplant survival??
Even the other one I left in sand for a few days is perking up, it had lost 50% of it's leaves....
Photo to cone..

Re: Little rosemary bush(rescued from death)
I've started bringing it out of the green house every day a little bit at a time to get it acclimatized and It's showing good signs of growth, but it's very slow.
It's still green with very little leaf loss and most cut points have new growth..
I still like the bark on the trunk, it's still a young tree and all....(wiring needs a tidy up)
So at the moment, it's still not a 100% success, but it's looking good....

I hope that it survives. I hope that the car isn't your greenhouse?

Re: Little rosemary bush(rescued from death)
Well I have good news......
The Rosemary has finally started to bounce back with lots of new growth and that lovely Rosemary leaf smell. It no longer requires time in the green house and is happily growing on my top bench in full sun....
Now to let it grow some more before I start styling and removing unwanted branches....
Certainly love the nice bark trunk........
Sorry, not a very good photo(phone camera)
So hopefully I'll have an update soon.

Rosemary have many attributes that ake a good Bonsai.
I have a small one on my bench and just love the smell when I trim it.

Re: Little rosemary bush(rescued from death)
I saw this when you first posted and was inspired to put my rosemary out in the sun. My sister grows it and gave me some sticks, which I just shoved into the pot and left in the greenhouse. I saw her plant recently, and it covers over a metre cubed in her garden, so it must be pretty hardy!
I think they need a very well drained mix, from all I've seen, and you're obviously doing something right!

Re: Little rosemary bush(rescued from death)
The mix I'm using is : 70% premium potting mix with 30% coco fibre..
Pretty good draining...
The other plant with this one didn't make it and it wasn't a good specimen anyway.
They are hardy but don't like been moved, so this one spend a long time in the green house and then slowly bringing it out for a few hours at a time. I also fed it a lot of seaweed solution, worm wed and a small amount of fertiliser.
Been out of the green house for a few weeks now and not going back.....
