Hi all, went for a drive yesterday and popped into a Olive Farm and asked the owner if they had any feral trees of non-producing Olive trees they didn't want.. Turns out they had 15 trees that they planted about 15 years ago that they grew and didn't want.. It was on his bucket lift to pull them out of the plantation.. Woohooo.. Jackpot !Now I have scored about 15 very large olive stops to practice my carving on and styling. They will be grown as feature trees that will become centre pieces for peoples collections.. No I don't plan on keeping them all int he long run. They will be used to hone carving skills mainly. Here are some pics from the day.. I will pick up the remaining 13 or so in August.
Got them home removed the root systems and flattened the bases ready for bonsai pots added root hormone and planted.. now they will live in the growing beds for a year to strengthen up before pot training. The remaining 15 will probably go straight into pots and line my driveway!

Grainer,
I believe you've just shown how easy it it to get your hands on some pretty nice trees! Did they cost you anything?
