It needs some cutting back and a good tidy up. What makes you think it may not be any good?
Have you googled Duranta Erecta Bonsai? There are some nice specimens.

I hacked into it good last night. It had a lot of cross branching so I decided to keep the 'S' bend trunk & pulled a few branches down - they grow fast, so options will develop. Thoughts?

For better advice try taking a photo on a level plane with the tree, that way it can be viewed from the front and not above. Just like the angle on the first photo.
