Buxus Forest Spring Clean

Post by Thymetraveller »

It's the end of a pleasurable afternoon's micro-forestry...

I have left this Buxus Microphylla forest alone since autumn, and now seemed like a good time to wade in with some wire, let in some light, and simplify some of the structure.
Here's how things looked when I started:

And the results:

In addition to the trimming and wiring, I reconfigured the gravel path, narrowing it towards the back of the pot to give a deeper perspective.
I spend a lot of time letting my mind wander through this forest...
Of all my trees, this planting is my favourite.

Obviously a work in progress, but shaping up nicely. I like group plantings too, I find myself always looking at them a lot longer than single trees. Looking forward to seeing future updates of this one.

Nice work Thymetraveller.
Group planting’s definitely suck you and take you to another place.
Well done.
