Hey all,

We had a large Mastic tree that was planted way too close to the brick wall which had started to damage it so before things got any worse I decided it was time to go. The upside to this is if it survives I should have an interesting tree to play around with. It is by far the largest tree I have dug and it has way more character than I originally thought it would.

For now I'm just hoping it will recover. I'm about 50/50 optimistic with this one.

Here it is before a trim.

AFter a bit of a cut back.

And finally potted up after a couple of hours digging.

There is already a couple of areas of deadwood on it, they could be interesting in themselves but if all goes well could expose a live vein I think. Not going to get carried away just yet though. But there are plenty of options down the line and jobs are one of them. :)
