Hi all,

Here is the first studio shot of this group.

It will only be on display for a few months more as it will soon be three years it has been here and all loans must go home after three years.

After three years loans can be donated or after a suitable period they can be re loaned to the collection.

The boys may re loan the group when we move to our new site in 12 to 18 months.

I had better hide mine as we cant have them back. I think SA is a bit more lenient, as they do let stuff across the border, to go to other states.

Recently I crossed the border from NSW into SA with some olive stumps in the trailer that I'd collected in NSW, the sign at the border said their were restrictions on bringing in plant material into SA, one of the fellahs managing the checkpoint blasted all the stumps with a high pressure hose and then we were good to go.

Of course you wouldnt want to bring in any pests that might harm the wallaby population...

Pup, I think it is now illegal to transport plants in the Myrtaceae family into W.A. due to Myrtle Rust. Do you have any on loan to NBPCA at the moment?

Joel the trees that are or were mine that are there belong to the collection. Apart from our state restrictions. The logistics to return them is horrendous.

So they now belong to the NBPCA, with our blessing, my wife and I are very proud to have the no1 and 2 next to our donation.
As was pointed out though, we were on paper only, as one was donated before us. It is just Mrs Pup loves paper work, and got it done toot sweet, hence no1 and 2

Yes Pup , thats right. Every tree that gets accepted to the NBPCA gets a unique accession number. Pup's trees have 2007001 and 2007002. The first 4 digits are the year of accession, the last 3 are unique to the individual tree or setting. The year 2007 was the first year we accepted trees to the Collection. The unique accession number is the one single identifier that cannot be duplicated, as could be the case in botanic names and artists names (which coincidentally has occurred already).
