Juniper cascade trainer

Post by alpineart »

This was purchased from a market and in my eagerness to make an informal upright out of it i had one of those OH BUGGER :| #^": moments and completely snapped the main trunk off . Some 3 years later i have final done something with the only branch left , not wanting to break it again a simple cascade was produced .

After a quick trim, i placed some wire on the whole trunk and branches

Time to inspect the root as this had been in the original soil for 3 years or more . I bare rooted the plant and re-potted it into my Bonsai mix with only a minor trim of the roots

Once re-potted i shaped and pre styled the trainer in readiness for the rock it will be grown on as a cliff dweller

. I don't have a suitable rock so i will produce a custom made piece specifically for this cascade , until then it can grow on with some special attention to the new growth .
