Try and avoid trimming the roots. Most junipers, once the soil is removed have few roots.

What is going on with the Shimpaku here?
I've noticed these white puffs growing: They eventually turn brown: If I brush them they fall off.
I'm assuming this is pollen? Or is it flowering (which will eventually turn into berries)?
Also something else I've noticed is that the tips of foliage turns brown, but differently to the picture above. Not in puffs but rather the foliage itself. What is this?
