My Greatest challenge ever

Post by alpineart »

This was a challenge of the enormous kind
SANY0374.JPG
how do you get these out
SANY0373.JPG
and back to my place in 6 hours
SANY0370.JPG
Thats a 200mm piece of concrete there next to the trunk , Hire an Excavator and a few blokes a crack the whip .
SANY0376.JPG
Home and hosed, damaged by the excavator operator , he certainly won't be getting a full days pay for this effort .
SANY0378.JPG
these were removed under full instructions and my methods employed .
SANY0380.JPG
the last one , all up 8 monsters were collected and numerous ground layers also . I ripped into the last ones with the chainsaw so the operator could see where the trunks were . These were approximately 3.0 x 3.0m , currently cut down to about 1.2m round and 1m high , the bases range from 200mm to 350mm plus , haven't had a good look yet . Best get out there and trim them up ready to plant out .

Cheers Alpineart

Hi Paul.B , i did the sums on pots alone that will set me back $1500 plus, they will be alpineartworks for sure .

hI ado , i think there a mix of European and Chinese , haven't bothered with the I.D yet.

Hi V.S mate with material like this there is not a lot to do its already there , just trim and grow .

Hi Sean.mitchell1, yes mate you need council permission, or tender for them . Full insurance is a requirement safety vest, traffic management , a couple of labourers , an excavator , a full wallet , now empty , and big gonads .

Hi Booga they will be in the ground by lunchtime tomorrow , have to keep the labourers employed until dark tonight .

Hi Hacker , where the bloody hell is my excavator, Sorry mate there is no 200mm trunks they start at 250mm plus , but i might give you a small ground layered trunk of 100mm excellent raft style .

Hi Brian , no real challenge now there home . These would be easier than playing with a bonsai juniper as there is more to work with, welcome anytime .

Cheers guys Alpineart

Hi V.S , plenty of jins and shari's on all of them and they will take some serious carving too.

Hi fiveoffive , mate 8 x 600-700mm pots at least 150mm deep wont be cheap, but it will be worth it .I have trimmed 3 and planted out another 15 ground layered branches between 20 and 80mm thick and all the layers a Juniperus Sabina/ Savin junipers , my favorite juni for phoenix grafts . Only 5 trunks to go and a couple of layered section. There's a lot of lunches in this buggers .

Cheers Guys Alpine
