Big squamata
Hey folks,
Picked this tree up @ bonsai south yesterday and got to work over the course of last night and this morning. Still some detail wiring left to do but it's initial styling is complete.
May have played it a bit safe with this one but we'll see what you all think
Before And after (good ol 1l seasol for scale) Looking forward to everyone's opinions, as I'm certainly not looking forward to moving this thing around when it's in a pot

Re: Big squamata
Hey Kez, Looking really good. I have seen a few trees from this batch and all are excellent stock and all that I have seen have been very well styled, this one is up there with the best, look after it and dont get too keen to pot it up just yet. I like the work, good styling, this will be an exceptional tree in time. All the best, Michael.

Terrific styling Kez, looks very Japanese in it's structure & form.
Would love to see a photoshop of it in a bonsai pot, it would look magnificent!

Re: Big squamata
Thanks for the kind words folks,
Very daunting for me working with stock of this size/price so it's good to hear some positive feedback/encouragement

Yep looks fantastic to me Kez!
Must have missed this one earlier..
Reminds me very much of the one that Ryan Neil worked on in Hugh Grants video..

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Re: Big squamata
2nd bit of work on this tree, had a bit of wire biting in in a number of placed and needed to do some finer wiring and thinning out
Hope you all enjoy, as always comments are most welcome

Re: Big squamata
Did a bit more refinement and then potted this tree up today,
I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out I'd love to hear what people think
Cheers,
Kerrin
