Undoubtedly one of my favourite threads on this site... That "birds eye view" pic posted above (and the others for that matter) are a great learning tool. Quality work.

Ryceman3 referenced this thread in a recent post; really interesting. Thanks for pointing it out R3

The birds eye view of the tree is certainly excellent. As usual on this forum - this tree - even with its reverse taper - is better than anything I have. Yet again I am green with envy. :mrgreen:

It looks like we never did get Miyagiman's technique but any update on the tree would be great and appreciated.

PS - That bird's eye view reminds me of a photo of one of Treeman's bonsai that I took at this year's Yarra Valley Bonsai Show.

It's hard to believe this is a trident Maple forest of some 25 trees from memory. Quite brilliant :imo:
