Update:

November 12 / Spring

This tree is really showing some vigour and is ripe for candle pruning in 3 - 4 weeks.

Very nice tree and photography . Yes most of my pines will be decandled in about 3 weeks . They have really boomed of late most with 100mm candles or more at present. Some rain forecast tomorrow can only help.

On top of being a great tree you also have nice even growth all over, so it's responding well to your techniques. This tree has a bright future.

Looking great...just out of interest when you decandled last month did you remove all candles in one go or use staggered approach (aka, remove weak ones first then remove stronger ones a week later)?

Cheers,
Hal.

It is very important that you cut every bud at the same time. Doing it in a staggered a approach will to the opposite to the desired effect.
